AAAHC

The Valley Pain Center is accredited by the AAAHC. AAAHC stands for Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The AAAHC ensures that an ambulatory care center adopts best practices in health care and complies with nationally recognized standards. This allows us to measure the quality of our services. Self assessment is completed with the assistance of professional expert surveyors from the AAAHC. This promotes the exploration of areas that we may improve in and advance our quality of care to patients. Obtaining accreditation from a nationally recognized accreditation association helps to ensure a safe environment. Quality of care and quality assurance is a main focus of the accreditation process. We are surveyed and need to meet the highest standards in order to receive our certificate of achievement for accreditation.

Department of Health

The Valley Pain Center is a licensed ambulatory surgical center. The Pennsylvania Department of Health is responsible for the licensing and oversight of surgical centers in Pennsylvania. They also carry out the federal certification surveys for Medicare. We are surveyed and inspected on at least an annual basis. The PA Department of Health requires surgical facilities to meet licensure rules and regulations developed by the department. Quality of care is evaluated to assure patient safety. All aspects of clinical care are reviewed and need to be carried out in a manner assuring standards are met. The physical layout and condition of the building including all fire safety aspects is inspected and must meet the Life Safety Code adopted by the Department. Licensure is obtained when regulations are met and the facility is found to be in compliance with the Departments rules.
